History

Petershagen Insurance traces it's beginnings to 1891 when Richard King established an insurance business in Lowell. Subsequently, the business was owned by a Mr. Pierce who eventually formed a partnership with A.D. Lucas. In 1920 Lucas joined with Henry H. Petershagen who had been involved in several local insurance businesses since arriving in Everett from San Francisco shortly after the 1906 earthquake.

In 1937, George and Al Petershagen joined their father in the firm. After the elder Petershagen passed away, Al and George ran the firm until 1981 when they retired and sold the firm to Jeanne Peterson and Michael Cole. Perry Pearson, who started his insurance career with Fireman's Fund in 1970, purchased the firm in 1986 and changed the name to simply PETERSHAGEN INSURANCE, wanting to retain the historical business name for the community.

In 1986, the firm was primarily involved with personal insurance, which includes homeowners, automobiles, boats and other recreational vehicles. The company now is significantly larger and diversified almost equally between personal insurance and business insurance. The key to the success of Petershagen Insurance is, and has always been, the quality of it's employees and the company's historical desire to serve the Everett community and surrounding areas. The satisfied customers that we serve are the primary reason for the continued growth of this agency. We intend to keep our commitment to you.
